Ric Holland is a creative, marketing and business development director working at the cutting edge of technology innovation - consulting with best in class businesses, vendors, developers and start-ups.

 

Originally Creative Director for 25 years delivering SME and corporate marketing projects for his clients and later logically transitioned to Marketing Director roles delivering strategy and projects from the client side, both locally and internationally.  

Professional History

A creative career built on the pulse of digital technology, concepts, design, marketing, communications, sales and business innovation - riding the ever-emerging waves of disruption.

His professional life spans 40 years, staying relevant by constantly moving forward, researching and providing up-to-date expertise and skills in full-time and consulting roles. Always looking to the next big job to shine with creative flair, while creating and helping cool stuff happen in startup communities.

Creative, Brand, Marketing, Sales skills and a talent for curating and producing premium industry innovation events about what has been and what is yet to disrupt us.

During the past decade has researched and worked in NUI, UX, Spatial Interaction Design, XR and Cloud industries, having acquired insights and forward thinking when considering new market opportunities, user/customer behaviour, creative thinking, innovative ideas and technology.

Broad experience across various technology innovation sectors including: AR & VR,(XR) AI, IoT, ICT, Cloud Computing (ISV, IaaS, SaaS) UX, MXDP, BI, CMS, CRM, Startups and Venture Capital.

Developed a Digital Media teaching reference framework and delivered it as senior lecturer at UNSW, UTS, Billy Blue Design School, SAE and was a mentor and Industry Liaison consultant for AFTRS Laboratory of Advanced Media Production. (LAMP)

UX researcher at UNSW, surveying AR/VR, NUI and other spatial computing technologies for qualitative observations of human skills transfer between two subjects immersed in expressive XR prosthesis systems to identify a 'Master and Apprentice' accelerated skills learning model.

Global Evangelist & Partner Manager for Wacom - World leader in Natural User Interface technology. Ric proudly authored Wacom’s 25 Year Anniversary Book – Art of Making Marks. Presented at many local and international conferences and events for Wacom.

Creative Director for IBM eBusiness Innovation - Interactive Branding and Design - delivered large scale User Centered Design/UX projects across APAC and was responsible for pitching and delivering multi-million dollar websites for Westpac, Thai Farmers Bank, AUS Government Departments, etc.

APAC VP for MetaCreations Corp - Fractal Design/Metatools merger - creative software tools including (Corel) Painter, Bryce 3D, Carrara, Canoma, Poser, KPT, Infini-D, etc.

Annual budget forecasts and recommendations based on sales revenue and new customer acquisition targets. Delivered a new corporate website built on custom Django CMS, Google Analytics, SEO, Adwords, Content Marketing, Blog, Linkedin Sales Navigator for sales team, UX and new technologies for developing business solutions. Sponsored partner events with IBM and others.

CEO's Award - 2009 Masahiko Yamada (CEO Wacom) - In recognition of Ric Holland’s contribution to the successful communication of Wacom's reputation in the Global Professional Digital Content Creation markets.

Art of Making Marks - Ric authored the coffee table book that became a 25th Anniversary Publication for Wacom which received recognition from digital professionals around the world plus a promotion to join the Global Brand Management Team in Japan and Germany working directly for Wacom's CEO in Japan.

 

Advanced Photoshop Magazine book review. Author - Ric Holland Wacom celebrates 25 years of excellence with this inspiring limited-edition resource. This title presents some of the world's foremost design pioneers and innovators who use Wacom digital drawing devices. A mixed bag of commercial creative culture and aesthetic delights.
